Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using TrustHaven ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time; continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Description of service

TrustHaven is an online marketplace that connects people seeking housing, guest houses, food and dining services, and local services in Cameroon with owners and providers. We do not own or manage any listed property or service and are not a party to any transaction between users.

3. User accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information.

4. Listing content and accuracy

Owners and hosts are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listings. All listings are reviewed by TrustHaven before publication, but we do not guarantee that listings are free from errors or omissions. If you find inaccurate or misleading information, please report it to support@gettrusthaven.com.

5. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users
• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
• Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Platform without written permission
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform

6. Payments and fees

Browsing listings and contacting owners through TrustHaven is free for users. We do not facilitate payments between renters and owners at this time. Any payment arrangements are made directly between the parties and TrustHaven bears no liability for such transactions.

7. Intellectual property

All content on the Platform — including the design, text, logos, and software — is the property of TrustHaven or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

8. Limitation of liability

TrustHaven provides the Platform on an "as is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by Cameroonian law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including losses resulting from transactions between users.

9. Agent fee transparency policy

TrustHaven operates a mandatory fee transparency system for all agent listings. By listing on TrustHaven, agents agree to:

• Declare their agency fee (as a percentage of one month's rent or a fixed FCFA amount) on every listing before publication
• Charge seekers only the fee declared on the Platform — not a higher amount
• Never charge a displacement fee to any seeker who unlocked the agent's contact number via TrustHaven's credit system
• Ensure the property description, location, photos, and price accurately reflect the actual listing

Agents who hold the Verified Agent badge are additionally subject to the TrustHaven Verified Agent Fee Code, the current version of which is available at gettrusthaven.com/how-fees-work. Confirmed violations of this policy may result in immediate badge revocation, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the Platform. TrustHaven maintains a full audit trail of all contact unlock events and fee declarations.

Seekers who believe an agent has violated this policy may report it to support@gettrusthaven.com. All reports are reviewed within 24 hours on business days.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Buea, South West Region, Cameroon.
